Milestones Galore!!

It just amazes me how quickly Julia is growing up. I know that everyone tells you how fast the time flies by, and that you need to enjoy every second...but you can never really fully understand that until you are a parent. Guess what, I get it now! She is passing milestones like crazy and as they tick off the list, I realize that my baby won't be a baby forever.
So as we approach the 6 month mark, here are some of her new accomplishments. The tooth that had broken through on her bottom gums seems to have gone into hiding. We can't see or feel it anymore. Where did it go? However, that has not slowed down the endless chomping and drooling. More teeth must be coming, and soon. She has progressed onto eating everyone's fingers, not just her own. Julia now eats food like a champ. She is up to two meals of solids a day and we are about to add a third. Of course, bananas are still her favorite. The bath is no longer a dreaded torturous nightmare. She actually doesn't mind hanging out and playing a little in the tub. Thank goodness for that...pool season approaches. She is now rolling over without problem (although hates getting caught on her tummy) and sitting up for short stretches (a couple of minutes at a time) without toppling over. She stands with only a few fingers to help her stay balanced, but all of her weight is on her own legs. She LOVES to play...with anyone, espcially the dogs and little kids. Her laugh makes my heart smile and her squeals of delight are absolutely precious. And boy oh boy is Julia smart. Well, at least I think so...she has figured out that when someone walks behind her and she can't see them anymore, turn around and look the other way! Hooray! They haven't disappeared. What a little brainiac.
With all that drool and chewing, there has to be a tooth about to bust loose.

MMMMMM, rubby ducky. Let's chew on him too.

See me, I sit up all by myself!

I am not sure if Julia is really my child or if perhaps she is just Jason's clone. The two of them are so much alike, it scares me.

Ok, this one is here just because I love it! She's all about personality and style.

We no longer the baby carrier in the grocery stores or restaurants...she has progressed to sitting in the shopping carts and high chairs all on her own. The Floppy Seat is a big help. I love that the toys clip right on.

Julia loves to play with other kids. Here she is with her (well, my) cousin Crystal.
